I want to join silver snickers program at local fitness center? How do I go about getting signed up? I had neck surgery front and back in August. I need to go to fitness center to walk 1 mile every day until Dec 18 when I see the surgeon again then he will increase
the actives I can do thank you for your help I looking forward to hearing from you soon

  • Michael J. Sharp

Hi, my name is Mike, and I belong to Gottlieb Fitness center in Melrose Park IL. Can you tell me if this is part of the Mutually Well Fitness program. I want to find out which healthclubs take the Mutually Well plan.

  • Dorothy A Metcalf

Why such a high cost for gym membership ($25/mo.). Silver Sneakers cost me $50/year. A membership at my gym is $30/month so $25 seems like no bargain. Hopefully, MoO can get on board with the Silver Sneakers program — a real affordable option for seniors at $50/year.

    Hi,
My wife was asking about any benefits for fitness through our supplemental insurance with Omaha. So I checked for locations on the Wellness site in our area to see if it was worth it and all it does is search (spins). Is there no locations in Yakima, Washington for Mutually Well? She had several of her friends mentioned the silver snickers program and how very reasonable and how much they liked it. That is why she asked if our supplemental had something like that.
    Thanks for your time, Dan

Also, here’s a tip. Anytime you feel your browser is lagging or having trouble, you can just hold down the CTRL key and F5, then release both. That will empty the cache memory (which can get quite large) and reload the page in any browser. It helps to keep things moving.

  • Denise Bendick

I would like to join a program but the only available thing available on the Eastern shore of Virginia is the YMCA are they part of your program?

    • Bill Bronson

Marym, I called Silver Sneakers at 866-584-7389. They said United World is not part of Silver Sneakers but that there are a few Medicare Supplement carriers that are.
United World is a Mutual of Omaha company. Mutual of Omaha has a huge program they host called Mutually Well, at http://www.mutuallywell.com
Mutually Well does cost monthly but it’s less than regular gym memberships and it allows you to go to your choice of places, so you can find places you like best.
If you want it to be free, I would need to run a check for you to find a Medicare Supplement plan that includes Silver Sneakers.
In order to help you further I need to know your age, state, and zip code. You may email me directly at wbronson@empowerbrokerage.com to keep that information private, or call me directly at 817-410-5820.
I’m sure we can help you get what you want.

    • Bill Bronson

Silver Sneakers is accepted at the YMCA, among many other fitness clubs like 24-Hour Fitness, LA Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Fit for Life, area rec centers and more. Here’s the map tool to help you. https://tools.silversneakers.com/LocationSearch
However, Mutually Well does not show YMCA participating in that. Mutually Well has many more fitness centers available but YMCA is not one of them, that I can tell at this time.

  • Connie Oberlin

When you join the mutually well program does that mean that you only pay the 25.00 and you can join the fitness center of your choice for that fee or is the 25.00 added on to your monthly premium and you still have to pay for fitness center?

    • Bill Bronson

Connie, when you join Mutually Well for $25/month you get access to all of those fitness centers. No additional fees. It’s like joining a cheap gym but going anywhere you want. Just make sure the place is on the list and go. If you experience any issues with this, just ask us or call Mutually Well to get it corrected. But really you shouldn’t have problems. The program is very simple.

        • Bill Bronson

Peggy, there’s not a monthly fee to find a place. There’s just the one monthly fee to use any of those places as much as you want. It’s cheaper than most gym memberships but lets you go anywhere in their network of over 10,000 facilities nationally. There could be 10 or more close to you for you to try out and go to whenever you like.

    • Bill Bronson

Steven, Planet Fitness cost averages out to $15.66 a month according to their pricing structure. For that fee you get access to their facility, probably at any location. Mutually Well is a membership that would give you access to Planet Fitness as well as thousands of other facilities https://www.mutuallywell.com/locations plus 10% to 30% discounts on Massage, Acupuncture, Chiropractic care, and more. So it gives you access to a whole host of facilities, services, and discounts managed by the Mutual of Omaha network. Does that help answer your question?

  • larry lommel

I am saving about $120 a year by using Mutually well vs my local LA fitness center membership. I would like to see my local LA fitness supported, and feel a little badly about making the change. I know most clubs make money from memberships. Does Mutually well pay based on my attendance at a local club? Does Mutually Well pay my center?

    • Bill Bronson

They do get paid and I’m not sure why some decide not to join. Perhaps it’s because Mutually Well is so new that some may not have had time to make the decision to join it. I’m confident many more clubs will join. Now that it’s the first of a new year perhaps they will. I encourage you to visit http://www.mutuallywell.com to look at locations near you.

    • Bill Bronson

      YES 🙂
Your Time Fitness is listed as a Silver Sneakers location in Clayton, GA.
As is Clayton Health and Fitness and Dosher Physical Therapy Associates on Main Street.

      • Joey Hinojosa

  • Shelia Beu

I would like to sign up for Silver Sneaker Program. Please advise how. I live in Littleton, Co.
I have Medicare Supplement Plan F.

    • Bill Bronson

David, yes the cost is higher than silver sneakers and some basic gym memberships because the program covers more and has more flexibility. The discounts on chiropractic, acupuncture, and other therapies, makes the program very compelling. However, it may not appeal to everyone. Thank you for your input.

  • Carol Appell

I belong to the Kewanee, Il. YMCA. Does the does the program cover the Silver Sneakers at that YMCA. I know others that go they have the program. When I talked to staff there they said Mutual of Omaha was not covered there. Please let me know. I am a current member at the YMCA and participate in classes. Thank you for your help. Carol Appell

  • Dayle Brown

I’m thinking of quitting Mutual of Omaha because it doesn’t offer Silver Sneakers. Most of my friends have a different supplement that does and their monthly payment for their coverage is the same as mine. I have had Omaha for many, many years and I hate to leave but I can’t afford gym or Y prices and many other insurances off Silver Sneakers.

    • Bill Bronson

Im sorry to hear that. I was under the impression the only way to get silver sneakers was through a participating Medicare Advantage plan and not a Medicare Supplement. You may benefit from asking one of our Medicare Specialists a few questions. Just call them at 888-446-9157

  • Brodie Rudd

Every fitness center in my area is listed except the one I’m a current member of…..the YMCA in Clemmons, NC. Any chance of that being added?

  • Loretta Adams

Is Mutually Well somehow connected with Silver Sneakers? The Gym in Blairsville GA accepts Silver Sneakers but not Mutually Well. I have Mutual of Omaha insurance and I was rejected for Silver Sneakers.

    • Bill Bronson

Silver Sneakers is normally only offered through a participating Medicare Advantage plan and not a Medicare Supplement. You may benefit from asking one of our Medicare Specialists a few questions. Just call them at 888-446-9157. You may have options. Let them know you spoke to Bill at the home office.

  • Lo

The Gym in BlaIrsville GA is listed under Mutually Well but doesn’t seem know anything about it. Claim they have called for info but haven’t heard back from mutually well.

    • Bill Bronson

Mutually Well is not a home health service so the answer would be no. If you need help with these kinds of questions you should talk with a qualified agent at 888-446-9157

  • Cheryl beard

I clicked on get here to find gym locations. Put in zip code and got Chicago area instead of Lafayette. We have a new ymca in south Lafayette. Wanted to check if it is covered by you.

  • william butler

Are there discount coupons available for the mutually well program for fitness centers? If so, where can they be obtained?

  • Charles and Barbara Ford

Very disappointed that YMCA not included in your fitness locations! We have been members of our YMCA for more than 25 years. Further, it is located within 3 miles of our home!

    • Bill Bronson

Mr. & Mrs. Ford, I understand your frustration. The YMCA is slow to adopt the Mutually Well program but efforts are being made to add them to the list. Silver Sneakers is mostly promoting the YMCA but you can’t buy into that. It’s included with some Medicare Advantage plans as a perk. You can ask our agents more about which plans that’s on by calling 888-446-9157. Tell them Bill at the home office referred you. 🙂

  • David Hape

It may be some time until we can go back to a Mutually Well fitness center. Can we put the monthly subscription on hold until we can return

    • Bill Bronson

David, that’s a good question. While I understand the situation, I also know that, if everyone put their payments on hold, the clubs would go bankrupt. That may be a good question for the Mutually Well administration. Call them at 833-574-6105 to find out more. Thank you for reaching out to us.

  • LAURA HORTON

My Kinetix gym has been closed due to the covid pandemic . Since I can’t participate, how do I end my mutually well benifit payment?

  • Richard Jensen

I thought I joined mutually well in December 2019. My fitness club Any time fitness did not change my billing. Do you have a record of my application and if so what is the status. I do not seem to be able to contact anyone personally.

  • JANET OSTER COFFELT

Why don’t all insurance companies on medicare offer a silver sneaker program. for people over 65 .Its a shame they don’t…. As it is insurance premiums are high enough . how can i get Cross Gates in slidell la on the Prime membership program,

    • Bill Bronson

Janet, I understand your question. Let me explain some things to help.
Silver Sneakers is paid for by some insurance companies along with some Medicare Advantage plans. Often, it’s lower income seniors who lean towards a Medicare Advantage plan, although not exclusively. Some higher income people over 65 are fine with not having the flexibility to see any doctor they want. Networks etc.
Not all seniors have a low income and not all seniors need a free gym membership. There are pros and cons to each decision you will make. That’s why we have a Medicare helpline to help you answer questions about the best plan for you. Which, may or may not come with a free gym membership.
However, if you save $1000 per year but have to pay $300 for a gym, you end up saving money anyway. Our Medicare Helpline is 888-446-9157 and if you want to call Mutually Well customer service, it’s 833-574-6105

  • Hemant

I have Medicare supplemental insurance through Mutual of Omaha. I am a member of Mutually well. I want to use LA Fitness 3116 SOUTH ROUTE 59 SUITE 160 NAPERVILLE, IL 60564 BUT they have informed me that they are not accepting Mutually Well members at this location. Can you include this location in the program?

  • Rita farrell

  • Debra Ritchie

I have a Medicare Supplement Policy and noticed it includes Mutually Well. I could not access where to check on what is available for me @ 62839 and @74455. Thanks!

    • Bill Bronson

      Sherry,
      Here’s something I found. https://www.verywellhealth.com/questions-insurance-alternative-medicine-88734
You should contact your insurance provider to ask about alternative treatment options that are covered by your plan.
If you have original Medicare and a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) you have more flexibility. But even if you have a Medicare Advantage plan, you may have coverage for Chiropratic, Acupuncture, etc. But you will need to clear that with your insurance carrier first, such as (Cigna, Humana, Aetna, etc)
Call us if you want to ask an agent these questions 888-446-9157 during regular Monday – Friday business hours.
We wish you a Merry Christmas 🙂

  • Paul L Englert

The nearest Mutually Well affiliated gym it about twenty miles away. Is there a process to get the local YMCA enrolled in the program.

  • Francesca Mohan

Are there coupons available to your customers for any of the weight-loss products? Also, with gyms being unsafe right now due to COVID, will you be providing free or reduced sign up at places such as Prime Fitness later in the year.

    • Bill Bronson

David, yes the program is national. I’m not sure when California will let gyms open but hopefully soon. Here in Texas everyone is just about back to normal. You can look for gym locations by going to mutuallywell.com and looking for your zip code. I hope you find a place you like that’s close. And we hope you have a glorious 2021.

  • Richard Pagels

Can you help me disenroll from Tivity health. I must cancel for the remainder of the summer as I am unable to utilize my fitness center?
I plan to reenroll next fall. Or have an agent call me. Or provide me with instructions on how to stop my enrollment temporarily.
I have been very pleased with my use of this membership but an unable to use it during the summer months this year.
    Richard Pagels

  • Laura Barmettler

How do we access Mutually Well? Is there an ID card? How do we get into the program? We have Plan G through Mutual of Omaha.

  • Sharon R Barrow

I was excited to finally be able to use a local Y with my discount. I just received a notice from the Y that they are dropping my Tivity plan. I am not left with many choices so It may no longer be beneficial for me. I am so sad that the YMCA is so greedy that they can not let people without the financial means enjoy the healthy benefits. It is the SKY YMCA in port Charlotte Fl
