Omaha Supplement Insurance Company (OSIC) has been approved in the state of Texas. There are numerous Medicare supplement plans that come along with the Mutual of Omaha expansion.
What Medicare supplement plans will be offered through Mutual of Omaha in Texas?
Some of these plans will be changed because of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). These following changes will be effective on January 1st, 2020. MACRA changes the payment system for doctors who are treating Medicare patients. Here are the changes coming upon the effective date.
No change for Plan A
Plan F
This plan is available to all applicants with a policy effective date through December 31, 2019. For those that are Medicare-eligible prior to January 1, 2020, Plan F is available with an effective date of July 29, 2019, or after, including January 1, 2020, and beyond. This plan is not available to applicants who become Medicare-eligible on or after January 1, 2020.
Plan G
Plan G- Regarding Plan G Guaranteed Issue rights: Plan G will not be available to individuals eligible prior to January 1, 2020, but is available to applicants who become eligible for Medicare on or after January 1, 2020.
High Deductible Plan F (HDF)
This supplement is not available under OSIC in Texas. HDF was not filed with OSIC. However, HDF will continue to be offered under United World Life Insurance Company to applicants who are Medicare-eligible through December 31, 2019. Producers who want to continue offering HDF to eligible applicants will need to download a United World app from SPA. This app is not available for ordering or via e-app.
High Deductible Plan G (HDG)
HDG is available to all individuals with a policy effective date of January 1, 2020, or later.
When will Mutual of Omaha stop accepting new business application in Texas for United World?
As of August 31, 2019, Mutual of Omaha will no longer accept United World Medicare supplement applications in Texas. There are only a couple of weeks left for this opportunity! Make sure to take care of your personal health and seize this opportunity.
